Recently, I was in contact with a company from the industrial equipment and automation sector. They want to develop a new direction for themselves: business process automation. Of course, not "any automation at all," but strictly within their industry and expertise.
The development of technology has truly opened up many opportunities for cost optimization through automation. Many companies are either already actively implementing such solutions or at least carefully considering this direction. At the same time, some players are beginning to see automation not only as an internal efficiency tool but also as a separate business area.
Personally, I see great prospects in this, but also significant risks. Technologies have already reached a level where a single skilled specialist within a company can do more and at a lower cost than external automation contractors.
